More on Momentum

And now I have a cold! Typical, first of July, brilliant sunshine and all I want to do is lie down and feel sorry for myself. But I won’t. Instead I’ll rearrange things a little, delay some things that I feel are beyond me.

I made a great to do list yesterday, writing goals at the top, other random business items and then the household chores I wanted to complete. I’ll probably achieve half of them before the day is out. My blog post will be shorter, the word count of my WIP lower, the household chores set aside (yippeee, I won’t break my heart over that one!) but I will still feel a sense of achievement at the end of the day and I’ll have kept the momentum going.

It’s not about how many words but writing and adding to the previous days output. As Imran Siddiq said at Winchester Writers’ Conference last week ‘One word is better than zero’. And he is so right about that. Thanks again Imran, you were an inspiration.

As for the household chores, I did manage to wash the sheets, which aired beautifully in the sunshine. A little treat and once the bed is made it will feel wonderful to go to bed tonight and hopefully in the morning I’ll feel a little better and able to keep up the momentum.
