Tracy was born and raised in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. When she was 8 her parents took over the management of The Pier Hotel on the promenade opposite Cleethorpes Pier. They soon began putting on live entertainment and cabaret – and so began her love of variety theatre.
When she was sixteen she began working backstage at the theatre on the pier and two years later met her husband who was appearing with the Nolan Sisters. After that she travelled around working in theatres during pantomimes and summer seasons. These experience were the inspiration for The Variety Girls and Christmas with the Variety Girls published by Ebury Press/Penguin in 2020.
Tracy’s short stories and articles have been published in magazines such as Woman’s Weekly, My Weekly, Best, Take A Break, The People’s Friend, Candis and The Weekly News as well as many other magazines here in the UK and internationally.
She has lived on the south coast of England for almost 30 years and considers herself very lucky to have so much variety on the doorstep: the beautiful rugged coastline of the Jurassic Coast, breath-taking views over the Purbecks, and the vast green and gold of the New Forest. But her heart will always belong to the breezy east coast and Cleethorpes.
